How often should I have my septic system pumped (cleaned out)?
Household size and the type of septic system you have determines how often a pumping is needed.
We typically recommend a septic tank be pumped out every 3 years for a family of 4 with an in-ground system.
my septic system is equipped with a filter, do i need to clean this?
Yes. Naturally debris will build up over time and can lead to a clog. It is important to pull the filter out, hose it off and return it to the tank at least once per year.
are additives necessary for my system to run properly?
We recommend NOT using additives in your system as they tend to alter the natural bacteria that allow a system to function as it should.
